Ability1st Deputy Director, Jackie, was born and raised in Dubuque, Iowa. In 2011, she studied abroad in Spain, at the University of Salamanca. That same year, she moved to Tallahassee to pursue her master’s in social work from Florida State University and was part of the Phi Sigma Theta National Honors Society, she has called Tallahassee home ever since. Jackie has worked extensively in housing and homelessness since beginning her social work degree in 2013. A few of her duties at Ability1st include providing program and staff management, taking a leadership role in managing agency-wide record keeping, along with working on grant applications, reporting and management. Jackie was a 2022 nominee for the Kris Knab Service Award.
