Thank you so much to all of our sponsors, volunteers, and participants who helped make Rock Run Roll happen! Runners and walkers alike enjoyed the 2 mile fun run through the scenic Southwood Central Park. The Southern Rock Club of Valdosta, Georgia cranked it up for a post-race concert, covering classic rock n’ roll songs we all know and love! Participants enjoyed post –race refreshments provided by Sam’s Club and The Fresh Market. We were also pleased to have the Red Eye Coffee Truck and Donaven’s Road Cookin food truck out serving coffee and hearty breakfast favorites! Vocational Rehabilitation (VR) offered information about their programs and Ability1st facilitated several disability awareness activities.
Kid-friendly activities including arts and crafts with the ladies of the FSU Art Therapy Association, caricature drawings, bubble machine and carnival games. Everyone loved the toddler race, and participating toddlers enjoyed a nice treat from Peterbrooke Chocolatier! This year, Rock Run Roll raised funds for our Youth Transition program, to help youth with disabilities advance to post-secondary education, vocational training, or the workforce. We are looking forward to next year! In the meantime, stay tuned for information about the upcoming Capital City Bikefest and 1st Evening of Comedy events this fall!
