Monday, February 3rd, is the first-ever LIVE TV coverage of an Ability1st ramp build as the kickoff event for a month-long fundraising drive sponsored by WXTL and Kiwanis of the Big Bend (Kiwanis Club chapters from our eight-county community). This is a month-long campaign, with the goal of raising $50,000 to erase our 55-applicant waiting list for wheelchair ramps for our area’s low income persons with disabilities. The drive will be capped off with a multi-organization ramp build on Monday, March 3rd.
While the Access to Independence Program of Ability1st receives critical funding through the City of Tallahassee and United Way of the Big Bend, additional funds are needed to pay for the wheelchair ramp construction materials for those consumers on our extensive waiting list. All of the ramp construction labor is provided via community partnerships with the many civic and faith based groups in our Big Bend region.
Please help us reach our goal of $50,000 by making a donation today.
