| High School High Tech: New in 2007!
This January, students were given a “behind the scenes” tour of the FDLE (Florida Department of Law Enforcement) Crime lab in which they learned how law enforcement uses modern technology to solve crimes. Students also participated in a workshop that offered advising and counseling for career and life planning. High School High Tech students were guided through a computer assisted Career Guidance laboratory at the FSU Career Center. At the end of January, we participated in a Resume Workshop at Workforce Plus. The students really enjoyed the experience and were able to develop their own resumes for future internships, or job possibilities.
The last Saturday of January, High School High Tech ventured out into the community to be a part of the 6 Days 6 Ramps project. In collaboration with Volunteer Florida, HS/HT students spent the day building a wheelchair ramp. It was a great time for the students to work together, and do something for their community. We have many exciting events planned for the next months to come! |
