Capital Regional Medical Center Visit
In December, High School / High Tech students had the opportunity to tour the new Capital Regional Medical Center!
Students met with several Capital Regional staff working in Radiology, Medical Records and Surgery. Staff members explained their job responsibilities and discussed accommodations for persons with disabilities who are employed at Capital Regional.
Students visited the Radiology area and viewed scans of brain activity. Next the group went to a typical hospital room and learned about the technology that equips every room to afford the best health care for patients.
Students also visited the nuclear medicine area and the nursery. At the end of the tour, students had the opportunity to meet ROBOT-Rx, Capital Regional’s newest Pharmacy team member. This robot pharmacist chooses and stores medication with 100% accuracy! This robot fills over 6,000 prescriptions a day.
The High School / High Tech Program wishes to thank Capital Regional Medical Center for a wonderful tour and learning opportunity!
