Deaf Baseball Camp

June 5th-7th, 2007

The Sertoma Club at the Villages (Dundee, FL) is getting ready for their baseball camp for deaf and hard of hearing girls and boys ages 7-16.  Camp is FREE and will be on June 5th, 6th and 7th in The Villages.  Camp is in the morning, the kids eat lunch and then they go home.  If families would like to make a short vacation out of it, there are hotels nearby in The Villages.

Silent Weekend

June 21st-24th, 2007, Orlando

The 28th World's Largest Silent Weekend will be held at the Florida Hotel and Conference Center at the Florida Mall in Orlando - just minutes away from the airport and major attractions. This event is open to anyone interested in learning ASL - no speaking English is allowed all weekend. Interpreters may earn more than 2.0 CEUs for attending workshops and presentations. S.E.L.E.C.T. Camping Trip for Deaf Youth

S.E.L.E.C.T.© is "The Southeast Leadership and Empowerment Camp for Teens". The Southeast Leadership and Empowerment Camp for Teens are dedicated to providing an alternative for deaf youth in the southeast region with fostering friendships among themselves with similar challenges. We strive to promote their self-image and initiate leadership skills with deaf youth. Camp SELECT serves to enhance each deaf youth’s ability to contribute back to the deaf community through service, philanthropy, and leadership.
